Omaha Under the Radar is an annual experimental performance festival in the Midwest, featuring four days of performances, multiple venues, and inspiring performers from around the country. The festival emerged out of a desire to recognize and elevate the adventurous and innovative performers living and working in the Midwest, and to connect this community to other performance communities throughout the United States.

The first festival, held July 10-13, 2014, featured over 40 unique performances by 80 performers in 7 venues throughout Omaha. With workshops, interractive instruments, immersive performances, and open discussions, audiences got involved and were part of the action. Housed at KANEKO, The Bancroft Street Market, Joslyn Art Museum, The Slowdown, The Union for Contemporary Art, Omaha Conservatory of Music, and House of Loom, the 2014 festival reached a happy cross-section of Omaha audiences. And, with performers from 14 cities throughout the United States participating as performers, organizers, workshop leaders, volunteers, and attendees, the national impact of Omaha Under the Radar is already being felt.

We are already looking forward to the 2015 Omaha Under the Radar Festival. By encouraging conversation about performance practice and collaboration, Omaha Under the Radar allows a platform for innovation for the next generation of artists and audiences.
